La Guardia Airport is 20 miles southwest of the hotel. From the airport, take the Grand Central Parkway (Interstate 278) west. Exit onto the Triboro Bridge (pay toll). Bear to the left "Manhattan/FDR South." Take the FDR South. Exit onto 96th Street. Follow 96th Street to Park Avenue and turn left. Follow Park Avenue to 91st Street and go west one block to Madison Avenue. Make right on Madison Avenue. Hotel Wales is located at 92nd Street.

JFK is 17 miles  Northwest of the hotel. From the airport, follow the signs to New York City (Midtwon Manhattan). Take the Van Wyck Expressway (Interestate 678) north to the Queens Midtown Tunnel (pay toll).  Upon exiting the tunnel bear right to 37th Street (Uptown Sign).  Follow 37th Street to Madison Avenue and turn left.  Hotel Wales is located at 92nd Street.

Getting Around

There are three major bus and train terminals serving the Manhattan area, the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal. The Port Authority Bus Terminal, at Eighth Avenue and 41st Street is the major destination for commuter bus services. New Jersey Transit, Greyhound, Trailways, and other bus lines service the terminal. Direct bus service to the major airports is available at Port Authority. Penn Statin, at Seventh Avenue and 34th Street is the Manhattan destination for the Long Island Rail Road. New Jersey Transit's rail service, and Amtrak trains coming into New York City. Grand Central Terminal at 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue is a celebrated city landmark and destination for both the Metro-North Commuter Rail and Amtrak lines.
